Youth Delegates at the 2008 State Democratic Convention on June 7th
in Lowell
Governor Patrick and Senator Kerry provided electric
speeches, while Ed O'Reilly gained a hard fought primary spot
against Sen. Kerry as Democrats were united for a "big"
Democratic election year.
For the first time the Massachusetts Democratic
Party allowed high-school age "youth delegates" to particpate
These "youth" delegates got to learn all about how a convention is
run, which was followed by their own convention and workshops.
5 students from Attleboro and Norton who
participated along with over 100 state-wide youth delegates
included: Jayson Joyce (Feehan High School), Joe Lazzerini (Attleboro
High School), Stephanie Brodeur (Feehan High School), Emily Ferguson
(Attleboro High School), and Felicia Connelly (Attleboro High School).
